Instructions for winning bidders!

Congratulations on your win and thank you for taking part in the KidLit auction to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy!

If you are the top bidder (or among top bidders, in the case where more than one prize is included in the listing) please complete the following steps to claim your prize:

1. Visit the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and complete your donation in the amount of your winning bid (or higher).

2. Once you have a receipt from your donation, please forward the receipt to auctionforsandy@yahoo.com.

3. Along with your receipt, please include the following information in your email:

  • The name of the item or service you won
  • your contact information (i.e. an email address), which will be forwarded to the person donating the good or service
  • a mailing address if you have bid on an item that requires mailing
4. Once I have received all information, I will put you in contact with the person donating the service, if applicable.  Please respect that these are industry professionals who have given generously of their time and be flexible in working with this person to arrive at a mutually agreeable timeframe to complete any critiques, phone calls, etc.

THANK YOU AGAIN!

  1. I noticed some bids at 5:00pm, and they may think they won (as opposed to the 4:59 cut off). If both the 4:59 and 5:00 bidder thinks they won and they both make a donation... Someone is going to be disappointed! Maybe you should validate the winners before they go to the Red Cross site.

  3. Winners are being validated now- working my way through the posts. However, bids that come in with a 5:00:00 time stamp missed the cutoff. Auction ended at 4:59:59 and anything after that will not count. Sorry to anyone in that position. If in doubt, please wait for my comment on your listing- I am tagging all winners now!

  4. Oh poo. I got distracted late this afternoon and forgot to check in again. It's sooo disappointing; reminds me why I hate to try to buy things on eBay! I'll be sending a check to the Red Cross anyway, but wanted you to know what a wonderful job you did with this, and how much I (and everyone else, I'm sure) appreciate your efforts.

    1. Judy, that is really sweet of you. Thanks for taking part in the auction- I'm sorry it didn't have a better outcome for you but appreciate your donation nonetheless!
